Suntech, an industry leading Solar manufacturer, was acquired by SFCE in 2014. SFCE is the World’s leading integrated clean energy solution provider. Given its diverse clean energy portfolio (Inc module, wafer, inverter, battery, LED, electric vehicle manufacturers) its financial bank-ability, viability and diversification are considered highest within the renewable sector. Since 2001 Suntech has produced industry-leading solar modules for residential, commercial and utility applications. Suntech has delivered over 30 million panels or over 14 GWs of installed capacity in more than 80 countries. In Australia, from 2001 to 2017, Suntech shipped over 2.3 million high-quality PV modules. The Suntech connection with Australia is still strong, our founder studied his Ph.D. at the UNSW and we still have extensive R&D projects underway with the UNSW, ANU and Monash University.
Solar panel dimensions have remained unchanged for almost 10 years, however in the recent last 2 years we have observed a continual upward trend in wafer size increase. What are the reasons behind the changes? What kind of panels will we expect to be in the market due to the changes? What are the impacts on other products, system design or installation due to the changes?
