Unlocking the power of Solar energy and EV charging
MELBOURNE, July 1 2022 -- Wallbox (NYSE: WBX), a leading provider of electric vehicle (“EV”) charging and energy management solutions worldwide, is pleased to announce a new commercial agreement with One Stop Warehouse (“OSW”), Australia’s largest solar distributor. The announcement comes just after Wallbox also announced the inauguration of its new commercial office in Melbourne, CBD, Australia, the Company’s second office in APAC after Shanghai.
Signed on June 2nd, 2022, the partnership delivers a complete range of EV charging and energy management solutions to customers in Australia. OSW will be offering a complete turn-key solution to customers, consisting of a solar panel, inverter, power metre and Wallbox’s EV charger, which will enable customers to utilise Wallbox’s Eco-Smart feature. Eco-smart allows users to charge their car using solar power, either as the only source of power or by using excess solar in combination with grid power.
Australia has the highest per capita uptake of solar power globally, with around 30% of homes having rooftop pv solar installations as well as having one of the highest shares of electricity production from solar, close to 12%. The charging solutions offered through the partnership will help to unlock Australia’s $8.9 billion EV market through integrated household solar and battery systems, that change the way Australians see household energy.
OSW is fast becoming one of Australia’s most respected companies with its commitment towards understanding installer needs and appreciation of retailer requirements. Wallbox will provide the required training and educational resources to OSW’s staff and customers to ensure a simple transition to home EV charging.
